Recipe for macarons:

Ingredients:
- 125g almond flour
- 200g powdered sugar
- 3 large egg whites
- 50g granulated sugar
- Food coloring (optional)

Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 160°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a bowl, combine almond flour and powdered sugar, then sift this mixture into another bowl to remove any lumps. Set aside.
3. In a clean, dry mixing bowl, beat the egg whites on medium speed until foamy. Gradually add granulated sugar while continuing to beat. Increase the speed to high and beat until stiff peaks form.
4. Add the food coloring (if desired) and gently fold it into the egg white mixture until evenly distributed.
5. Gradually add the almond flour mixture to the egg whites, folding gently until fully incorporated and a thick batter forms.
6. Transfer the batter into a piping bag fitted with a round tip. Pipe small, evenly sized circles onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each.
7. Tap the baking sheet gently on the counter to release any air bubbles. Let the macarons sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes until a skin forms on top.
8. Bake the macarons in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until firm. Remove from the oven and let them cool completely on the baking sheet before removing.
9. Once cooled, pair up the macaron shells of similar sizes. Fill one shell with your desired filling, then gently press the second shell on top to create a sandwich.
