Rogue Rolls Recipe:Ingredients:
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 egg yolk
- ½ cup jam (your preferred flavor)
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions:
1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, salt, and egg yolk. Mix until well combined.
2. Gradually add the flour to the butter mixture and mix until the dough forms. If needed, knead the dough with your hands until it becomes smooth.
3. Divide the dough into two equal portions. Wrap each portion in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
4. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
5. Remove one portion of dough from the refrigerator and roll it out on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of about ¼ inch.
6. Cut the rolled dough into triangles. Spread a thin layer of jam over each triangle.
7. Starting from the wider end, roll up each triangle to form a crescent shape. Place the rogaliki on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between them.
8. Repeat steps 5-7 with the remaining portion of dough.
9. Bake the rogaliki for about 15-20 minutes, or until they turn golden brown.
10. Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet. Then, transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
11. Once cooled, dust the rogaliki with powdered sugar.
12. Enjoy your homemade rogaliki with a cup of tea or coffee!
Note: You can also add some chopped nuts or chocolate chips to the jam filling for added flavor.
