Przepis na pierogi z mięsem po angielsku 📖
Ingredients:- For the dough:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 large egg
- For the filling:
- 1/2 pound ground meat (beef, pork, or chicken)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt for the dough. Make a well in the center and add the warm water and egg. Mix well until a dough forms.
2. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth and elastic. Wrap it in plastic wrap and let it rest for about 30 minutes.
3. In the meantime, prepare the filling. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until they become translucent.
4. Add the ground meat to the pan and cook until browned. Season with salt and pepper according to your taste. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
5. Take the rested dough and roll it out on a floured surface until it's about 1/8 inch thick. Using a round cutter or a glass, cut out circles from the dough.
6. Place a small spoonful of the meat filling onto each circle of dough. Fold the dough in half, enclosing the filling, and press the edges together firmly to seal. You can crimp the edges with a fork for a decorative touch.
7. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Drop the pierogi into the boiling water and cook for about 5 minutes, or until they float to the top. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain.
8. Serve the pierogi hot with your choice of toppings, such as sour cream, fried onions, or melted butter. Enjoy!
Note: You can also freeze the uncooked pierogi for later use. Just place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and freeze until firm. Once frozen, transfer them to an airtight container or freezer bag. To cook frozen pierogi, boil them for a few extra minutes until heated through.
