Przepis na polski bigos po angielsku 📖
Ingredients:- 1 pound sauerkraut, drained
- 1 pound fresh cabbage, shredded
- 1 pound mixed meats (such as pork, beef, and sausage), diced
- 1 large onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup dried mushrooms, soaked in water
- 1 cup tomato puree
- 2 cups beef or vegetable broth
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 teaspoon dried marjoram
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, and sauté until translucent.
2. Add the mixed meats and sauté until browned on all sides.
3. Drain the soaked dried mushrooms and add them to the pot along with sauerkraut and shredded cabbage. Mix well.
4. Pour in the tomato puree and beef or vegetable broth. Stir in bay leaves, marjoram, caraway seeds, salt, and black pepper.
5. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for about 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
6. After 2 hours, remove the lid and continue simmering for another 30 minutes to thicken the sauce.
7. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
8. Serve the bigos hot with crusty bread or boiled potatoes.
